The Death's Outcasts is an order consisting primarily of trackers and assassins. They do the work that nobody is prepared to do -- and charge handsomely for their services.
Typically they don't go for any standard job on the Jacklists. Most of their work is sourced through the Order and is exclusive, ensuring high rates. Anybody who wants a dangerous job done hires the Outcasts and expects to pay a premium.
All members of Death's Outcasts have been plying their trade for years before even being considered for membership. The Order only allows those with exceptional records and/or skills to join. To be a member is seen to be part of the elite -- and they are, simply by virtue of the Order's stringent criteria.
Every member has a tattoo of a stylised flaming skull on their right temple; some choose to hide it under hair so as to remain incognito, while others display it proudly.
They tattoo acts as a key, opening doors that would be otherwise closed. Anyone with the tattoo is never denied entry or information anywhere. They are feared, and even occasionally respected, universally. A person crossing an Outcast, ironically finds themselves an outcast from their peers. This is usually because such a person remains alive while their friends, family, and known associates wind up dead.
More than one war has started or ended at the hand of an Outcast.
